Windows 95/98/ME/2000 | Windows XP

If you are able to read these instructions, you should already have Internet Explorer or Netscape installed on your machine, and should be able to follow these instructions to set up a Graphtronics dial-up account on your computer.

Setup Instructions (Win 95, 98, ME, 2000):

Make a Dial-Up Networking connection:

  1. Open My Computer
  2. Open the Dial-Up Networking folder
  3. Double click on Make New Connection
  4. Type in the name of the computer you are dialing (Graphtronics)
  5. Click on Next
  6. The Dayton phone number is 937 9100036 (the other settings should already be filled in)
  7. Click on Next
  8. Click on Finish

Change the settings on your Dial-Up Networking connection:

  1. Right-click on the Graphtronics icon you just made
  2. Left-click on Properties
  3. Click on the Server Types tab (may also be called Networking)
  4. Type of dial-up server should be PPP (followed by Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT, Internet, etc.)
  5. All boxes under Advanced Options should be UNCHECKED (i.e., Log on to Network, Enable Software Compression)
  6. Under Allowed Network Protocols, the only box checked should be next to TCP/IP
  7. Click OK
  8. Close the Dial-Up Networking window

Set up Internet Explorer to dial Graphtronics:

  1. Open My Computer
  2. Open Control Panel
  3. Double-click on Internet Options
  4. Click on Connections
  5. Under Dial-Up Settings, click on Graphtronics
  6. Select "Dial whenever a network connection is not present"
  7. Click on Set Default (to the right)
  8. Click on Settings button
  9. At the bottom of the page, enter your username and password (usernames are all lowercase, passwords are case sensitive)
  10. Click on OK
  11. Click on OK

Your computer should now be set to use your Graphtronics dial-up.


Setup Instructions for Windows XP:

Make a Dial-Up Networking connection:

  1. Click on Start
  2. Click on Control Panel
  3. If you see "Pick a Category", click on Network and Internet Connections, then click on Network Connection in the lower right
  4. If you see icons, click on Network Connections
  5. In the blue bar on the left side of the screen, under Network Tasks, click on "Create a new connection"
  6. In the New Connection Wizard, click on Next
  7. Select "Connect to the Internet", and click Next
  8. Select "Set up my connection manually", and click Next
  9. Select "Connect using a dial-up modem", and click Next
  10. In the ISP Name text box, type: Graphtronics, and click Next
  11. In the Phone Number text box, type your dial up phone number. (i.e. 910-0036 for Dayton... you can find a list of dial-up phone numbers here), and click Next
  12. In the User Name text box, type your Graphtronics username (usernames are lowercase, and do not include @graphtronics.net)
  13. Type your password in the Password text box, and again in the Confirm Password text box (remember, passwords are case-sensitive)
  14. Leave the 3 boxes at the bottom of the page checked
  15. Click Next
  16. If you would like a shortcut on the desktop, check the box next to that option
  17. Click Finish

Set up Internet Explorer to dial Graphtronics:

  1. Click on Start
  2. Click on Control Panel
  3. Double-click on Internet Options
  4. Click on Connections
  5. Under Dial-Up Settings, click on Graphtronics
  6. Select "Dial whenever a network connection is not present"
  7. Click on Set Default (to the right)
  8. Click on OK

Your computer should now be set to use your Graphtronics dial-up.
